My Son's natural hair page!

Not sure how to care for your child's hair? Click around, have a look around, and learn the tools of the trade that is natural hair care for children! This page features my precious little two-year-old QTbug, who hasn't had a hair cut since April 2013. Daddy and Mommy plan to let his hair grow on out for as long as it'll grow, leaving the decision to cut his hair with him. We'll also leave the decision of dreadlocking up to him; we plan to let his hair grow out in a loose state! :)

So far it's been easy.. It's really just a matter of keeping it moisturized but i'll admit sometimes i get lazy. So it stays in a cute lil fro. Occassionally i put flat twists in, to make them look like corn rows. his hair has finally filled in all over, so now we're just waiting for the length to catch up to his thick crown. His hair, at the longest, is about 4 inches. If you have any questions just contact me using the box on the main page or on the Get in Touch page! Or leave comments on the Natural Hair feature of this blog. Thanks!

Texture shot! This is my son's head of hair. His little coils are small as pen springs but they clump together when moist. His hair easily dries out, and if I were to stay on top of moisture id have to moisturize it twice daily. But luckily, because it's short right now, tanglings not much of an issue. He gets a lot of knots, and when dry, his hair takes on a cloud-like or cottony appearance. the texture tends to be on the soft side, particularly after moisture has been added. He has shrinkage galore, but that's to be expected with so coily a mane. I love his hair and take pride in cultivating it, because i want my son to know that kinky coily is awesome!
